The location

In its second location of the year, The Cube by Electrolux will sit on the Piazza del Duomo, in the heart of Milan.
Dominated by Milan Cathedral, the Piazza is filled with monumental and impressive buildings, and is not only at the right in the centre of Milan, but has an historical, artistic, cultural and social importance, known as the place to mingle with the Milanese.
The transparent and semi-transparent structure will offer truly spectacular views of the Piazza del Duomo.

Discover The Cube

The traditional design of the brand is reflected in the design of The Cube. It is completely transparent and made of glass enclosed by an aluminum, laser cut. Everything, except the floor is white. The interior is white Corian ™ combined with matt and lacquered wood. The wooden floor and the carpet under the tables add a touch of warmth and atmosphere, while the outdoor terrace offers a stunning view over the city of Milan. The Cube is situated on a 19-th century palazzo overlooking the Piazza del Duomo. The whole structure has a surface area of 150 square meters and weighs 60 tons.

How to book

The Cube by Electrolux is open daily at lunch from 13.00 to 15.30, and at dinner from 21.00 to 24.00. There are only 18 places available. Booking, for one or more persons, is required via website, phone or email and it depends on availability. If you choose website you must pay by credit card, or if you choose phone or email you must pay by cash at The Cube .

Chef Andrea Canton

Andrea Canton, is a Michelin star chef and owner of the Primula Restaurant in St. Quirino, Pordenone. Local is very important to his way of cooking, sourcing local ingredients and an excellent wine list. Andrea will be cooking at The Cube from Monday 6th February to Sunday 19th February 19 2012.

 

 

Chef Emanuele Scarello

Emanuele Scarello was "born" in the kitchen as his family opened the restaurant "Agli amici" in 1887. Even as a child loves to experiment flavors and aromas in the kitchen and over time this natural curiosity turns into a real passion and, in his hands the best products of land and sea of the Friuli Venezia Giulia are interpreted with great sensitivity. He defines his cuisine of contemporary  flavor with a sense of balance. Open to discussion and research is the current President of the Jeunes Restaurateurs d'Europe - Italy

 


The Cube by Electrolux will open in Milan from 19th December 2011 to 26th April 2012 (inclusive).  The unique dining concept (launched earlier this year in Brussels, Belgium) will bring together some of the most pioneering chefs in Italy, supported by Electrolux within their own restaurants, to offer guests a magnificent view of the Piazza del Duomo and a showcase of gastronomic excellence.

At the Cube, Electrolux will install a rotating team of award-winning resident chefs and members of the Jeunes Restaurateurs d’Europe - the prestigious European association of young emergent chefs-restaurateurs, who, under the motto ‘Talent and Passion’, combine high-quality craftsmanship, inventive art of cooking and respect for the local gastronomic inheritance.

Electrolux Professional has a long standing partnership with the Jeunes Restaurateurs d’Europe, with which it shares a genuine passion for innovation and excellence, as well as the intent to recover and reassert a sustainable culinary approach.

The Chefs will encourage guests to explore their own creative boundaries when entertaining at home by sharing their personal hints and tips from the kitchen. This process is one that Electrolux use when creating appliances for the best kitchens in the world, providing chefs the opportunity to fully express themselves through food entertainment.

Chef Andrea Sarri

Andrea Sarri is the son of a chef and it was his father that taught him the first “secrets” of the culinary art. After several positions in restaurants in Italy and France, Sarri opened Agrodolce in Imperia (Sarri’s hometown). Sarri’s work and philosophy of cooking are recognised by both gastronomic guides and popular food titles alike, topped with the the award of his first Michelin star.

Brothers Christian and Manuel Costardi achieved their first Michelin star together in November 2009.Varied experiences working at leading restaurants provide the knowledge and expertise offered at Ristorante Cinzia.  The Costardi’s offer two different proposals: the risotteria, a creative interpretation of the local tradition of “risotto”, offers twenty-five types of risotto (all prepared even for just one diner) and a restaurant of contemporary gourmet cuisine.

The Cube by Electrolux is a showcase of our experience in being a trusted partner to some of the world’s greatest professional kitchens and its Scandinavian design heritage. Everything, from the transparent glass walls to the high-end white Corian ™ interior and the chef’s final touch of the meticulously composed dishes, are orchestrated to create a one of a kind experience for the guests. 7. My company wants to hireThe Cube for a lunch or dinner, how do I do this?
Certain dates are expressively reserved for companies who want to hire The Cube for a lunch or dinner. If you are  interested in this opportunity, you can find more information here.

8. My company wants to hire The Cube exclusively for a lunch, how much will that cost?
Mondays and Tuesdays are days especially reserved for companies. On these days we make it possible to hire The Cube exclusively. For lunch, the hire amounts to 6,000 EUR excluding VAT and including: private use of The Cube for a maximum of 18 people, a personalized welcome and a 3-course meal accompanied by champagne and wines chosen by the chefs. The premises are placed at your disposal between midday and 3 pm. Any request to change the schedule must be agreed in advance by Absolute Blue: thecube@absoluteblue.eu.

9. My company wants to hire The Cube exclusively for a dinner, how much will that cost?
Mondays and Tuesdays are days especially reserved for companies. On these days we make it possible to hire The Cube exclusively. For dinner, the hire amounts to 8,000 EUR excluding VAT and including: private use of The Cube for a maximum of 18 persons, a personalized welcome and a 4-course meal accompanied by champagne and wines chosen by the chefs. The premises are placed at your disposal between 7 pm and 11 pm. Any request to change the schedule must be agreed in advance by Absolute Blue: thecube@absoluteblue.eu

10. My company is a company that organizes events that wants to hire the premises for one of its clients. How do I do this?
Absolute Blue, the event company that manages The Cube, agrees to place it at the disposal of other events companies that want to use it for a client. This collaboration will rely on a contract concluded between the two parties and a fixed, non-negotiable price. For more information, please contact Absolute Blue: thecube@absoluteblue.eu


1. Are children and/or pets welcome at The Cube?
-It is not recommended to bring pets or children under the age of 12, as The Cube is not equipped with the necessary infrastructure or design, which their comfort, care and safety require. Moreover, as the restaurant is in a small environment with a limited number of guests, any noise would be more considered loud and of disturbance to the other guests.

2. Does The Cube have Internet Access?
-Yes, the Cube has a WiFi network that will allow you to access the Internet.

3. Can I bring my video camera, camera or laptop?
-Yes you can. However! Thanks to the WiFi network in place, we have specially equipped The Cube with its own iPads,  which you can use to take photos or to use video with. You can then view them on site right away or send them to your personal e-mail address.

4. Is The Cube equipped to accommodate people with reduced mobility?
-If you, or one of your guests has difficulty moving (mobility problem, a cane or a wheelchair), all you have to do is notify us when you make your booking on the site. We will provide staff, who will help you get to The Cube in the easiest and smoothest way possible.

5. How can I change a reservation?
We insist that changes must be made as little as possible, due to the high demand and the limited number of seats. We therefore ask you to choose your dates with care/carefully before confirming your reservation. If, however, you do need to change it, please send an e-mail to thecube@absoluteblue.eu stating your name, the date and the reason for the change that you want to make.  In case of a change, the new date must be chosen from those open and available on the site. However, no changes or refunds will be possible less than two weeks before the date of your reservation.

6. How do I cancel a reservation ?
We insist on the fact that cancellations must be made as little as possible. We therefore ask you to choose your dates with care/carefully before confirming your reservation. If, however, you do need to cancel it, please send an e-mail to thecube@absoluteblue.eu stating your name, the date and your reservation number. The amount paid will be refunded within 15 days of the receipt of your e-mail. However, no cancellation or refund will be possible within two weeks of the date of your reservation.
